Triumvir x Fly x Nike SB Dunk Mid Beijing

   Posted by: jkickz    in Sneakers

Brandon Cheng of Triumvir collaborates with Nike x flystreetwear to design “Dunk Mid Beijing”, the inspiration and concept of the shoe was based on “a Beijing native’s perspective of their own city, with the slogan skate towards Tienanmen Square.”

This shoe pays tribute to some aspects of this very intriguing and unique country. Also, this is the first Nike shoe ever to be named after China’s great northern metropolis, “Beijing.”. Several elements from Beijing go into to the design including The gray tones which used to symbolize the colors of the city’s high-rises and highways, Red and gold symbolize fortune and prosperity in Chinese culture; the colors also reflect that of the Chinese flag. Further detailed explanations can be read over on Triumvir.

I miss the 90s

Posted by: jkickz    in My view

Regular season has started and I’m thrilled with all these changes. Last year was a great year, I saw a lot of new faces and surprises but……I was watching ESPN Classic the other day and I have to admit, I miss the 90s. Things are difference nowadays, the excitement is gone. I think the large part is due to the tight rules and official blow every whistle like they got paid to do so. I mean, let the guys play, let them settle it on the court, why blow the whistle when the game is tie with less then 10 sec left? Why rude the momentum when everyone is getting on their feet’s.? Let the guys fight, seriously, no one can really land a punch these days. Except for sucker punch. We have Rodman in the 90s. Why not Artest in year 2000? Well, maybe not Artest but you got my point.

I miss the 90s. I miss the work ethics. I miss the fundamental. Yes, Tim Duncan is boring but he win games. I’m getting sick and tired of all those fancy dunk and move but with 8 TO per game. I’m telling you, soon or later. Europeans player will get passed us, mark my word. I miss pass first point guard. I really don’t need a point guard keep on shooting brick. If I want to build a house, I will do it myself. I want some pick and roll. Where are Karl Malone and John Stockton? I miss Reggie Miller running around for 30 mins non stop just to break lose for a split second to drop bombs. I miss Rodman, he maybe crazy but he is 6’9 and he got more rebound then anyone in the league. Look at Eddy Curry, listed at 6’11 but average a career 5.4 boards per game!? Are you kidding me??? I miss John Starks keep on pissing MJ off. I miss the Ewing and Jordan rival. I miss every fight between the Bulls and Knicks. I miss A.C. Green which probably there will not be another baller like him ever after. And please don’t get me started with Kobe 81 pts 2 years ago. The league is so desperate with high scoring games, they chance the rules so outrageous, even Pippen in the 90s cannot stop Kobe. (on the side note: Kobe is improving, not his scoring ability but his passing game. A great player know when to take over and when to pass and Kobe is getting there) And most of all, I miss MJ for his toughest. His desire to win, his leadership and the way he takes over the game. Seriously, how many next Jordan did we get from the past decade, Penny, Grant Hill, Kobe, Vince, King James, Wade, etc. The list goes on and on. And the fact remains, no one can top his game and that’s why he is the G.O.A.T.
